Team PKR put to the test in Nottingham

Team PKR have had a few tough assignments in their time, but they don’t come much bigger than the challenge waiting for them in the Midlands this week.

The team consisting of Andrew Teng, Ashley Hames, Karl Fenton and PKR regular doctorfun are all heading off to the English Poker Open in Nottingham where their $5k buy in will give them a shot at a guaranteed prize pool of $1m. However, they can expect a fair bit of competition for the money.

The event has attracted some of the biggest names in the poker world with Phil Hellmuth, Annette Orbestad and WSOP November Niner James Akenhead joining the Texas Dolly himself, Doyle Brunson in a star studded line-up which promises to draw a big crowd.

The action will get underway at 14.00 this afternoon and will continue throughout the week with the Main Event final being played out on Thursday at 15.00 GMT.

Despite the tough competition, PKR Marketing Director Simon Prodger seemed confident that Team PKR would do themselves proud: “With PKR player’s recent run of form with zlatan35 winning the APT Main Event and Beyne taking down the APPT High Rollers event I’m confident that we’ll get a great result, maybe even a win!”

To follow the action, check out the EPO website which will feature streaming video and a live leaderboard which will update in virtual realtime.
