Having launched a casino in 2007, a very interesting rumour has surfaced suggesting that PKR could be looking to add a sportsbook to their website during the middle of 2010.
If this is true, then it would certainly be a novel twist to the gambling community. Companies such as Bodog are well known for being sportsbooks originally, and then branching out into the world of online poker and casino. However, it would seem that PKR would be doing the opposite and looking to add a sportsbook to an already well established poker offering.
The suggestion is that any sportsbook offering would be powered by Global Betting Exchange (GBE) and would include GBE’s highly prized software iBroker.
The integration would allow PKR players the opportunity to play some of the largest poker tournaments around while opening another window to view the latest odds updated in real time for an upcoming sporting event.
For regular gamblers it’s a mouthwatering prospect and certainly shows that PKR have done their research into the link between online poker players and sportsbetters.
The question a lot of people are asking is whether this new sportsbook will include the 3D graphics that have made PKR poker and PKR Casino so popular. The answer to this hasn’t been confirmed yet, but I think it’s safe to say that any sportsbook offering will certainly be a very attractive and user-friendly proposition.
